Cary man charged in hit-and-run

A Cary man was arrested and charged with transgression strike and run after an collision Sunday night, Cary military said.

Luis Perez-Betancourt, 23, of 850 Barron Court, Apt. D, Cary, additionally faces a drunken-driving assign following the pile-up on Walnut Street, according to detain documents.

Perez-Betancourt ran a red light at the intersection of Dillard Drive and Walnut Street, military said, and struck a car driven by Carlos Vasquez, 20.

Perez-Betancourt ran from the stage of the collision but was after taken in to custody.

Vasquez was taken to WakeMed Raleigh Campus. He is in satisfactory condition.

Perez-Betancourt is in the Wake County Jail in lieu of $50,000 bail.
